In contemporary worship bands, the bass is the foundation of the entire sound. A weak bass or one with an undefined tone makes the whole band sound hollow, while a bass that’s too out of control muddies the mix. Striking the perfect balance between the punch of a real electric bass and the sub-bass weight of an analog synthesizer is a true art form.

To solve this problem, That Worship Sound designed Bass Essentials 3, the final bass track for MainStage.

This hybrid template lets you combine the organic sound of a studio bass with the overwhelming power of classic synthesizers in an interface optimized for live performance. We're sharing it today completely free with our community in the format .concert.

What does Bass Essentials 3 for MainStage offer?

The genius of Bass Essentials 3 lies in its dual hybrid concept, which lets you blend two different soundscapes in real time:

🎛️ 1. Synth Bass Section (Synthesized Bass)

• Designed to deliver that deep, modern sub-bass sound typical of songs by Elevation Worship or Hillsong.
• It includes dedicated controls on the screen of Drive (saturation), Sidechain (to pump in time with the drums), Arpeggiator, Reverb, Delay and Equalizer.

🎸 2. Electric Bass Section

• It delivers the classic, articulate, and organic sound of a real electric bass recorded through direct boxes and premium amplifiers.
• It features controls for Reverb, Delay and Equalizer independent variables to shape their response.

🎚️ Effects Rack and Advanced Processing

In the center of the screen, you'll find top-of-the-line virtual processors ready to use:

• Fuzz: Features Groove, Tone, and Level controls for aggressive distortion.
• Drive 1 & Drive 2: Two overdrive stages to add analog warmth or heavy distortion.
• Compressor: Dynamics control to keep the bass stable and under control.
• Chorus: Adds modulation and stereo widening.
• Octave: Low- and high-octave generator for creating a massive sound.

🎼 Integrated Drone Tools & Pads

• It features a module for Drone Tools located at the bottom. It allows you to play continuous "pads" and low notes in any chromatic pitch (C#, D#, F#, G#, etc.) to fill in gaps.
• Includes controls for Octave, Cutoff (filter brightness) and Layer 2 for the pads/drones section.

Installation Instructions

1. Download the file Zip file from the template using the buttons at the bottom (Telegram or Terabox).
2. Extract the compressed file on your Mac.
3. Double-click the file .concert from Bass Essentials 3.0.
4. Note: The first time you load the application, MainStage will scan for and load Apple's native synthesizer and amp simulator patches.
5. Go to the tab Layout in MainStage to map the main volume faders, synth pitch, and effects to your fader controller or MIDI keyboard.
6. All set! Enjoy the bass with the most punch on the market.
